I’m Ed. I’m an author and computer programmer. Enlightened Crowd is a blog about stuff I find interesting (spirituality, psychology, health, music, tech, cryptocurrency, etc).
If you know me as a writer its probably from psychology or transpersonal (spiritual) psychology, and for a large portion of my life that was what it was all about. I studied and practiced Buddhist and Hindu meditation for over 15 years, dialogued with some of the leading psychologists and philosophers in the world, and wrote one of the best regarded books in transpersonal psychology, which was based around those themes.
Then things changed, in the way only God can change them. In 2013 I had a very profound experience which completely altered my outlook on spirituality, and I became a Christian, literally overnight. You can read about that experience on this site. Since then I have been interested in Christian theology, the interface of Christianity and other religions, what living as a Christian means in the twenty-first century, and especially in Christian mysticism.
I also do technology, as something of a side line interest, and to pay for things. I got into technology when working in the backroom of Subhabrata Mitra studies in motion parallax at the University of Warwick in the early 2000s which used virtual reality technology and a mainframe computer, and have since worked as a developer or adviser on numerous coding projects, as well as remaining interested in the philosophy of mathematics and computation.
If you like what you read here and want to discuss collaborating on future projects, particularly concerning apologetics or Christian outreach, then please reach out. We are stronger together.
